Couple & Engagement Session FAQ
How do I book my session?
Send me a message through my contact form or email firstname.lastname@example.org. We'll decide on a location, date, and time, and I'll email a digital contract and invoice. A signed contract and 50% non-refundable retainer are required to book, and the remainder is due one week before your session. Payments are made online through your digital invoice.
What should we wear?
I recommend wearing whatever makes you feel the happiest and most comfortable. If you're feeling good at your session, chances are that will show in your photos! Selecting outfits for two people can feel overwhelming, and it helps to pick one piece that you know you want to include (such as a dress, shirt, or jacket). Once you have this piece narrowed down, build the rest of the outfits around that. If you need help, email or text me photos of your options and I can help mix and match. I recommend against outfits with distracting text/logos and neon colors.
What if it rains?
I will keep an eye on the weather forecast in the week before your session. If there is a high chance of rain, I will reach out and ask if you would like to reschedule in advance, or pick a backup indoor location, or shoot rain-or-shine. Many couples choose to shoot rain-or-shine, particularly if we have selected an area with tree cover. I always bring a clear umbrella that we can use in your portraits or in between shots to stay dry. In the case we need to reschedule due to rain, there is no additional charge for selecting a new date.
Will you help pose us?
Yes! I will let you know exactly where you need to be, and my goal is to get the two of you laughing, having fun, and enjoying one another's company. Expect lots of hand-holding, big hugs, and memory-making with your favorite person.
Can we bring our dog?
Yes! Please let me know in advance so we can make a plan for how to best include them. Assuming that you will also want some photos of just the two of you, I may ask that you bring a friend who can keep your dog occupied for a portion of the session.
Can we bring our family?
Family sessions include an additional cost. Please send me an email in advance for current rates and availability.
When will we receive our photos?
I'm just as excited to send you your photos as you are to receive them! I will send a couple web-size images over email within one week of your session as a preview. You will receive your full gallery within 4-5 weeks.
Can I order save the dates, wedding invitations, and holiday cards through you?
Yes! These can be added to your session or wedding at any time. View available designs here and email to order.

Can we use our engagement photos as a guestbook at our wedding?
Yes! If you would like to order through me, you can view available album options here. We can include as much blank white space as you'd like, and you will have opportunities to review the final design before it is submitted for printing.
