It was a smoky September morning and Niel and Alesha were enjoying a walk through Peace Arch Park. Posing as a product photographer for a puzzle company, I stopped them and asked if they would help me with a few shots. Niel and I had carefully planned the proposal in advance, and he got down on one knee after she read the puzzle's special message. She happily pulled off her mask, said yes, and we celebrated with an engagement session!

Claire and Nate are engaged and I'm so excited to tag along for the journey! If these two look familiar, I photographed them back in 2016 at the same location. My style has grown and changed, but Claire and Nate are as silly and smiley as they were in our first session together. Their ability to focus on each other, not take the photos too seriously, laugh, and just enjoy each other's company led to genuinely happy photos full of memories. I can't wait to be a part of their wedding next summer!
Since Rebecca and Thomas's wedding consult took place over video call, their engagement session gave us a great opportunity to meet in person and get to know each other better! We took a walk through Fairhaven (my favorite area of Bellingham) and then drove down the street to Woodstock Farm for a view of the sunset.
Packed full of joyful candid moments and big smiles, I'm so excited to share this album of Katie and Colby's beautiful backyard wedding from August 2019! Albums include 20 thick layflat pages (10 spreads) with a hard cover in a linen or velvet color of your choice. Pictured here is a 12x12 album with a sage linen cover, debossed text, and white fill.
Over the course of a week, Hannah and Storm reached out to me about their wedding date, we booked and met over Zoom, and gathered together for a micro wedding at Hotel Bellwether in Bellingham, WA. The rainy September skies cleared just in time for their first look and portraits, and we ended their day with a sunset and champagne toast. I tagged along for five hours and it was a super sweet, relaxed day full of so much love. Scroll to see some of my favorites, and don't miss their pup Ghost watching her walk down the aisle!
After multiple changes in wedding dates and plans due to COVID restrictions, Jacelyn and Matt embraced a sweet, easy-going micro wedding at Lairmont Manor in Bellingham, and it was perfect. The gardens provided shade and glowing spots of sunshine throughout their ceremony, and their parents joined over Facetime for their first dance. These two were such a joy to work with, and I can't wait to join them next year for their reception!
Gretchen and Ryan hosted a backyard wedding on a beautiful July evening, surrounded by their closest family and friends. They put so much time and love into preparing the home, lawn, and garden in the months before the wedding, investing all of their wedding-prep into something long lasting for their family. A majority of the vendors were friends of theirs, and though I only met them a few times before their wedding day, they were so intentional about welcoming me in. Pozie by Natalie brought color to their ceremony and reception, close friends officiated and prepared an incredible meal, and her father drew the renovation process of their home for unforgettable save the dates and invitations. I'm so thankful to be a part of celebrations like these and to capture these moments for my clients to keep for a lifetime. Keep scrolling to view my favorites from Gretchen and Ryan's special day!
Larrabee State Park is a perfect location for tiny outdoor weddings and elopements, especially for those who want to embrace all the beauty that Bellingham has to offer. Sarah and Michael booked photography with me after attending Bryan and Mackenzie's wedding, and I'm so glad they did! The contrast between these two celebrations just goes to show that weddings come in all types and sizes. Whether couples have a handful of guests or over 300, whether it rains or shines, being a wedding photographer is the best job, and I'm so happy and thankful to be a part of these special moments.
Katie and Colby married on a warm summer day in a family member's beautiful backyard, just north of Bellingham, WA. From my first coffee meeting with Katie, I knew she and Colby were going to have a fun day full of joy, love, laughter, and lots of big hugs—all the things that make candid photos extra special. Their attention to detail paid off with a great team of vendors, magical ceremony photos, and a happy day to remember. I'm so excited to share a handful of my favorites!
Sam and Tony celebrated their wedding with family and friends at Marine Park and the Bellingham Ferry Terminal. Shortly after photographing their engagement portraits at Larrabee, Sam and Tony let me know that they eloped, and that the plan was still set to celebrate in May. We always encourage our couples to get married in whatever way feels fun to them, and to set aside the traditions that don't. This wedding was the perfect example of why that's so important. They spent their entire day laughing, dancing, and having a blast with people they love, without a single sign of stress or worries. They're effortlessly happy together, and it's been such a joy to get to know them. Here's a collection of some of my favorites, and I hope you can feel the love!
