Megan and Joey got married on a November afternoon at Kirkland Marina Park. Their beautiful pups and a few close family members joined in for a micro wedding under the gazebo just as the autumn rain rolled in. I tagged along for two hours, and we celebrated with a cake cutting and portraits. I grew up in Kirkland and spent many summers at this park, and it was so special to be back for a wedding day!

Caitlin and Alex gathered with their closest family and friends for a short-notice ceremony at Lowman Beach Park. It was a sunny October afternoon full of love, laughter, and sweet candid moments (all of my favorite things)! If you're thinking about eloping or planning a small outdoor ceremony, we live in such a beautiful area for these types of celebrations—no decorations needed. Scroll to see the highlights from this special day!
Anticipating that an upcoming stay-home order could cancel their March wedding, Keegan and Tara eloped early and postponed their reception for a later date. They exited the Seattle Washington Temple all smiles, surrounded by their parents and a few other close family members. It was a beautiful day full of so much love, and I hope it helps spread a little joy and hope to other couples getting married this year.
After spending a year and a half apart during Tara's mission trip, Keegan and Tara are engaged! We celebrated with an engagement session at St. Edwards Park where we took their first portraits together two years ago. Scroll to see a handful of my favorites from this happy rainy day!
We've both known Mackenzie and Bryan for years, so when they got engaged and asked us to photograph their wedding, we were SO excited! They're both so sweet, silly, and kind-hearted, and it was no surprise that their friends and families were the same way. Keep scrolling to take a look at some of my favorites from their Rein Fire Ranch wedding.
Keegan and Tara are sweet, silly, and ridiculously in love--all of my favorite things! We danced under cherry blossom trees at Saint Edwards Park, ran through the grass, and hiked through the trails down to Lake Washington. Keegan is one of my childhood best friends, and there's something so incredibly special about seeing longtime friends truly happy. You can bet I fought back some happy tears while shooting and editing this session for them.
Tara is heading out on a year and a half long mission trip, so I put together one of my special long distance sets for the two of them, packaged it with love, and sent it off for them to hang onto in this time apart. Here are just some of my favorites! I've had the pleasure of photographing Chrissie and Andrew twice now (remember their snowy engagement session?). Each time, Chrissie tells me she's not photogenic, and each time I leave with so many sweet photos of the two of them laughing, hugging, and enjoying each other's company. That's the main reason I started focusing my business on couples (and the families they create over the years). It's pretty easy to smile for a solo photo, but it's easier to really mean it when your arms are wrapped around someone whom you're absolutely feel-like-your-face-is-going-to-fall-off-from-smiling-so-much in love with. I started my photography business with "smile and look at me" posing and slowly evolved into "don't look at me unless I tell you to." Stories, real laughter, and interactions are way more fun in the moment, and they're much sweeter to look back on, too.
