The only thing better than celebrating an engagement, is celebrating an engagement and becoming a little family. Hannah, Dan, and their puppy Lenny arrived to Bellewood Acres dusted in an early November snow, and it was a magical way to welcome in the holidays!
Hannah and Ashley were so fun to work with! We laughed a bunch, shared a few happy tears, and enjoyed a gorgeous Bellingham sunset from Marine Park and the Community Boating Center. I hope you all can feel the love in these!
I've known Mackenzie and Bryan for years, and when the opportunity came up to do their engagement photos, I couldn't wait! We went back to where it all started—Western Washington University—got real silly, laughed a bunch, and made some new memories for them to hold onto. They're going to make a pretty cute married couple!
Maria and Jarod wanted a bright and colorful engagement session, and Tulip Town was the perfect place for it! We arrived just as they opened on a Friday morning and enjoyed the tail-end of tulip season. Here are some of my favorites!
After weeks of rescheduling due to weather, Chrissie, Andrew, and I decided to embrace Bellingham's second round of snow days, and I'm so glad we did! The trees at Sunset Pond were dusted with snow and the trails were white and fluffy—a sweet and magical-looking combination with these soft pinks and blue-greys! And Chrissie was all smiles, despite the freezing temperatures in her heels and dress. I can't wait to watch these two get married!
Claire and Nate will be several states apart soon, so they wanted some sweet photos of the two of them to hang onto. Claire is a friend of mine and we sat side by side last month as we anxiously waited for our names to be called at graduation. We clicked instantly when we met a year ago, and it was so much fun to capture her kind and joyful personality. She and Nate cracked each other up the entire hour of our portrait session, and I couldn't help but laugh, too. They weren't afraid to be silly, and it was so clear to me that they're a great match for each other. The Woods latte they brought me was much appreciated, but it was their love that started my morning on a good note.
Madison and Jimmy's engagement session was just so much fun. I speak for all of us when I say it felt natural and easy. It makes me so happy when I can really see that two people are in love, and I can definitely see it in these two. They're cheesy and a little silly, just like me, so when I told them to touch noses, dance on the rocks, and just be themselves, they were all for it. They stood still as I took about 12 photos that I would later stitch together (pictured below), and they waited excitedly as our Instax photo slowly appeared in their hands. I am so excited to photograph their wedding in January and to get to know them better!
Megan and I loved the idea of an engagement session on Mt. Baker and didn't know what we were getting ourselves into. "Maybe it'll snow!" I said. Well it did. A LOT. Snow in our eyes, on the camera, everywhere! We couldn't even see Picture Lake! We spent about 30 minutes on the mountain before deciding to continue our session at a lower elevation. It ended up being a perfect mix of photos, in my biased opinion. Enjoy!
