This Spring couple session included pops of yellow and one of my all-time favorite places! It's a little bit of a drive from the Bellingham area, but it's absolutely worth it. I love the combination of the beaches and steep green cliffs, and the way Eva's joyful outfits popped against it all!
Kate and Stephen chose a two-location session along Bellingham Bay for their engagement photos! Beginning shortly after sunrise on a Spring morning, we captured the beauty of the trees and water along Chuckanut Drive and their passion for biking at the pump tracks. This was such a fun way to celebrate their love for each other and the outdoors, and I'm so excited to photograph their wedding!
Gerald and I planned a surprise proposal and engagement session at Boulevard Park. He and Hannah were visiting Bellingham for the week, and he wanted the special moments captured on camera for her. After he proposed, I introduced myself and we took a walk through the boardwalk and Fairhaven. It was a beautiful memory, and I'm so glad I got to be a part of it!
I've been photographing Madison and Jimmy since 2016! They both value documenting their lives through photos, and I've had the joy of photographing their engagement, wedding, one-year wedding anniversary, and a snowy couple session up on Mount Baker. Two of my longest clients and biggest supporters, it's been such a gift to get to know them over the years. This time around, they wanted a Bellingham sunset session in the flower fields. We captured these on a smoky August evening, and I love all the bright, golden colors in these images. Scroll to see my top favorites from their session!
Christianson's Nursery in Mount Vernon is one of my favorite places for portraits and weddings. The gardens and greenhouses photograph beautifully and keep my clients warm and dry year-round. It's always special to be back at the place where we got married, and it brings me so much joy when couples choose me to capture their celebrations here, too. As I prep for my May mini sessions, I've brought together a handful of favorites from the past two seasons.
Chelsea and Andrew wanted a session near Mount Baker, a favorite place where they've spent time camping and canoeing together. We connected over Zoom first, and it was such a joy to learn more about them and the story of how they met years ago on an airplane. Adventure session require an adventurous attitude, and when our original locations ended up closed, we were stoked to find this expansive waterfront spot instead. Their pup Marley had the best time exploring for sticks, and it was so special to be able to include her. The rain downpoured at the end of the session, and Chelsea and Andrew did an incredible job embracing it. Originally, they planned to only book engagement photography and focus on videography for their wedding day. After receiving their engagement previews, they asked to book wedding photography too, and I couldn't be more excited to work with them again!
Keith and Pauline found me through a Google search and had their hearts set on Washington coast engagement photos. I almost said no. It'd been years since I drove out there, and I was in the middle of moving and a busy wedding season... but I could feel their joy, excitement, and trust in what we could create together! After a five hour road trip from the Bellingham area, my travel buddy and I arrived and could not believe how gorgeous these locations were. Simply put, this was a DREAM session. Keith and Pauline aligned so well with my style. As always, I told them where to stand and how to move, and their ability to focus on each other, not take it too seriously, and laugh together was what really brought out the magic in these photos. I could not be more excited to share these photos, and I really recommend watching the behind-the-scenes video on Instagram to get the full idea of how much fun we had!
I'll be back for more coast sessions in March! Send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Lily and Sam chose to celebrate their engagement with portraits at Mukilteo Lighthouse Beach Park near Everett. It's a special place to them and one of my favorite beaches for photos. I met Lily as Human Services students at Western and took her senior portraits several years ago. It was a joy to have her back in front of the camera again. They embraced the laughter and silliness, and I'm so glad I got to be a part of it!
Albert and Jane have spent the past year visiting each other at Peace Arch Park. Like many couples who met before the pandemic, the border closures have prevented them from crossing to see one another. Peace Arch Park is a special place that's considered neutral ground between Washington and Canada. It's a place where loved ones can come together for walks and picnics, and I'm grateful that we still have a spot to be able to capture celebrations like engagements. View some of my favorites below!
We celebrated Boo & Ky's engagement with a walk through two of their favorite spots in Bellingham, Fairhaven and Boulevard Park! I loved the special details they included and the variety of their outfits. They thoughtfully incorporated pieces from family, a handmade paper bouquet, a favorite comic book, and colors that they plan to include in their wedding. Scroll to see my favorites!
