Tips for Opening Your Wedding Photos: Make it a Date Night!

Your wedding day was full of so many special moments, and it probably all went by so fast. Now your photos are ready, and it's time to sit down and enjoy them! I know you're excited and it would be easy to quickly open them up before your partner even gets home, but I promise it's worth the wait. For couples looking to make an extra special experience out of opening these memories for the first time, here are some tips!

Choose a Time to Be Present

This experience may take a couple hours! If you're busy the night you receive your photos, look at your calendars and choose a time where you can both sit down together at your computer and be fully present. Silence your phones and enjoy!

Make it Special

Put on your wedding playlist or favorite music, light some candles, and maybe even dress for the occasion! Toss on your wedding veil or tie, or use it as an excuse to put on the entire outfit again. If you're a cryer, have your tissues ready!

Figuring Out Where to Start

  1. Prints: It's important to me that you're able to physically hold onto your memories right away! Each of my wedding couples receives a complimentary glass box with 50 4x6" prints, and this is where I recommend you start! Seeing your moments in print feels so much more meaningful, and it's also the best way to see your images' true colors. Your computer screen's colors and brightness may be calibrated differently than mine, but your prints will be perfect!
  2. USB: After flipping through your 50 prints, carefully pop your USB into your computer. If loading your high resolution images can't quite keep up with your excitement, open the web-size folder instead for the quickest speed. Click through each image one by one at your own pace, and have fun with it! Laugh, cry, and share stories with each other. There may be parts of the day one or neither of you got to witness day-of!
  3. Online gallery: In addition to the USB, my clients also receive a 12-month online gallery. This link is the easiest way to share with loved ones who want to view the images or order prints. I print through the highest quality labs, use a gorgeous lustre finish to prevent glossy glare, and all sizes 11x14" and larger are printed on special mat board to help your images last a lifetime. You can simply use the heart button in your gallery to mark your top favorites, and this will make it much easier to come back and decide which ones you'd like to order and frame in your home.

Love Your Photos?

By this point I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to hear from you! Send me a text or email and let me know what you think! I hope you absolutely love them and that they bring you right back to the love and joy you felt on your wedding day. When you're ready, let's get started designing your layflat album so you can show off all your favorites and look back on them together over the years.

If you're looking for the best way to say thank you and help other couples find me, share about your experience with a Google review. I love what I do, and your words will help others decide if we'd be a good fit. Thank you for being here and trusting me with your wedding day!
