Patrick booked proposal photography as a surprise for Claire on their vacation to the Pacific Northwest! It was their first time to the San Juan Islands and a beautiful location to capture this special moment in their lives together. He and I created a plan together in advance, and it all went so well. She said yes, and I had so much fun witnessing their joy! We continued with the rest of their portraits, giving them plenty of time to chat and laugh as we walked to each spot. I'm beyond excited to finally share some of my favorites here with you all!

Jenny and Eric celebrated their recent proposal by booking an engagement session and a vacation to San Juan Island! It was important to them to capture the beauty that Washington has to offer, and we couldn't have picked a better day to do that. Growing up I loved visiting all the beaches, eating ice cream in Friday Harbor, and walking through the gardens in Roche Harbor. The islands will always be a special place to me, and I loved exploring Lime Kiln Park with these two!
When Anni and Brian first asked about doing maternity photos together, Anni told me she wasn't looking for a "glamour" session. I teased her that I could more easily imagine her cracking up and tossing on a dinosaur costume, like that silly viral video (keep scrolling to see the best party crashers). We loved the idea of planning a fun weekend getaway and having me tag along for a portion of it. We picked a place special to them, took the ferry from Anacores to Orcas Island, and enjoyed puzzles and ferry coffee along the way (their favorites!). It was the perfect way to celebrate one of their last adventures before becoming a family of three!
Roche Harbor is one of my very favorite places! My family and I liked to vacation there in the summer time, always stopping at their little street market for ice ream or grapefruit candy. I loveeeeed walking though their gardens and that gorgeous walkway, occasionally getting a glimpse of a sunny summer wedding. We took one of their scoot coupes across the island to the Pelindaba Lavender farm (it smells amazing!), visited Pop-eye the one-eyed seal, and witnessed some incredible sunsets during Colors. If you haven't been to Roche Harbor yet, I really recommend it! And if you're dreaming of getting married in a garden overlooking ocean, check it out!
