Jessa and Brendan are getting married! They wanted to capture the last of the Fall colors at their November engagement session. We took a walk through a favorite park, included their pup for a few portraits, and popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Jessa and I both grew up in Kirkland, and it was so fun to meet Brendan and get to know them as a couple before their upcoming wedding!

Chelsea and Andrew wanted a session near Mount Baker, a favorite place where they've spent time camping and canoeing together. We connected over Zoom first, and it was such a joy to learn more about them and the story of how they met years ago on an airplane. Adventure session require an adventurous attitude, and when our original locations ended up closed, we were stoked to find this expansive waterfront spot instead. Their pup Marley had the best time exploring for sticks, and it was so special to be able to include her. The rain downpoured at the end of the session, and Chelsea and Andrew did an incredible job embracing it. Originally, they planned to only book engagement photography and focus on videography for their wedding day. After receiving their engagement previews, they asked to book wedding photography too, and I couldn't be more excited to work with them again!
One year after their fall micro wedding, Megan and Joey booked a Bellingham Airbnb and an anniversary photography session to celebrate! We used the beach outside their rental, included their dogs Newton and Gordon for portraits, and then let them run and play in the water. They made such a fun trip out of it, including stopping by the bakery that made their wedding cake, and I love knowing that these photos will remind them of all it.
Anniversary Session at Appel Farms, Ferndale Couple and Engagement Photography: Erika & Chris10/13/2018 In addition to Erika being my go-to hair stylist, Erika and Chris are both partial owners of their family business, Appel Farms. When we talked about a location for their anniversary portraits, they knew there was no place they'd be happier than at their farm. They brought their dogs, we threw a few sticks, and left with a huge gallery of photos and some sweet memories, too. If you love dogs and golden hour, this blog is for you!
Erika styled her hair herself, and her sister-in-law Beauty by Elizabeth Marie did a gorgeous job on her golden makeup. I couldn't recommend them more for your next portrait session or wedding! When Jack sent me an email asking if we would photograph him and his new puppy on Mount Baker for their first Christmas card, the answer was a big fat YES!! The reindeer antlers, gift wrap, and Snuggie were icing on the cake, and we loved designing a custom Elf-themed card for Jack to send out to friends and family.
I've had the pleasure of photographing Chrissie and Andrew twice now (remember their snowy engagement session?). Each time, Chrissie tells me she's not photogenic, and each time I leave with so many sweet photos of the two of them laughing, hugging, and enjoying each other's company. These connections are exactly what I love about photographing couples in love, and it was so special to be able to include their dogs in this session, too!
Bellewood Acres Mini Engagement Session, Bellingham, WA Photographer: Hannah, Dan & Lenny12/20/2017 The only thing better than celebrating an engagement, is celebrating an engagement and becoming a little family. Hannah, Dan, and their puppy Lenny arrived to Bellewood Acres dusted in an early November snow, and it was a magical way to welcome in the holidays!
