Taylor & Matt booked me as their photographer before we even had a chance to meet. Taylor said she had a feeling, based on our emails, that we'd be a great fit, and I couldn't agree more! We eventually got the chance to meet over coffee and to do a walk-through of their backyard venue, but on their wedding day it felt like I was spending the day photographing friends. Their Deming wedding was decked out in greenery, her bouquet and flower crown from Pozie by Natalie were beautiful, and everyone was so kind and friendly. I'm so excited to share the details, the candid moments, and all the joy that tied this wedding together. This right here is exactly why I love backyard weddings. Even in the hottest, driest, smokiest month of the year, the Pacific Northwest is the perfect place to celebrate the choice to get married. Scroll to see my favorites!

The kind of love that Lauren and Dane have is exactly why I love my job. Spending the past three weeks re-living their wedding day over and over through editing has filled me up with so much joy: the way Lauren and Dane look at each other with so much appreciation and respect, how excited their families were for her to walk down the aisle, the endless supply of laughter at the reception... I love all of this. As a wedding photographer, I see it becoming more and more common for my clients' families and friends to spend the wedding day watching the ceremony and first dances behind a phone, or texting at the reception. Aside from how difficult that makes things for the photographer, it makes me sad that they're not enjoying these moments. The Siegfried wedding shows what everyone else is missing out on. I can feel their presence in these, and I hope you can, too. Get ready to feel some love!
Hair: Carma Jean Catering: Brotha Dudes Flowers: Triple Wren Farms Hotel:Bellwether Hotel DJ: DJ Scoobalicious Erica and Jared live out of state, so we prepped for their Bellingham wedding over email. I met Erica a week before at our venue walk-through and Jared just hours before the ceremony! The cool thing about wedding photography though, is that it's so easy to get to know someone. The way their family talks to them, the kind of shoes they want to wear, finding out which part of the day they're most excited about, seeing the way they look at each other during their first look... We enjoyed a standing ceremony overlooking the islands and Bellingham Bay. Family members happy-cried all around us as Vinny and I captured their first moments together as husband and wife. They lined up for hugs, played soccer in the backyard, and enjoyed yummy treats from Barb's Pies Ferndale. It was a beautiful day, and I felt lucky to be a part of it!
